About Suma
Suma is a shrub that grows in the Amazon Basin in Brazil, in soil that is rich in iron. The bark and the root is used to heal and prevent disease. Brazilian Indian tribes and the Portugese call it "para todo," which means it is a great tonic "for everything." It is rich in the nutrients germanium, iron and magnesium. It's known as the South American version of ginseng.
Nutritional Role of Suma
Japanese studies reveal that the constituents in Suma, pfaffic acid and pfaffocides, act as cancer-inhibiting compounds. Suma has a chemical called allantoin that tends to inhibit tumor cell growth, protect the immune system and promote new cell growth and healing of wounds. It contains two plant hormones called sitosterol and stipmasterol that are beneficial to metabolism, by increasing heart circulation and decreasing cholesterol levels. Suma also enhances production of estrogen on an "as needed" basis.
