Dong Quai (Tang Keui) Facts
Dong Quai, as its known in the West and Tang Keui, as its referred to in the East, is a member of the celery family. It's often referred to as "female ginseng" because it's a tradtitional tonic used in Asia for the female reproductive system. There it is routinely used to treat menopause, perimenopause, menstrual problems like abnormal menstruation, hot flashes, PMS, cramping, vaginal dryness, etc., and it is taken for overall good health. Dong Quai is also used to treat both men and women for cardiovascular disease including high blood pressure and circulation problems.

How Dong Quai (Tang Keui) Works
Dong Quai has hormone-like compounds which help minimize estrogen problems related to the menstrual cycle. It has natural chemicals called coumarins that dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow to the organs and also serve to reduce inflammation and muscle spasms. This dilation of blood vessels can also help to lower blood pressure. Since Dong Quai is rich in iron, it helps build red blood cells.
