Astragalus is used in China, Japan and by Oriental herbalists for disease treatment and prevention and as a health tonic for a strong immune system. The root of Astragalus, a four to seven year old, yellow colored, dried root collected in the spring, is used medicinally for its health-promoting immunity effects. It contains numerous components including flavonoids, polysaccharides, triterpene glycosides, amino acids and trace minerals.
How Astragalus Works
Astragalus works as a tonic to enhance health, improve disease resistance and acts as an antioxidant to combat free radicals. It has antiviral and antibiotic properties helpful for respiratory infections.
